Gordon L. Miller, of Walnut Grove, Missouri, passed away on May 29, 2026, at the age of 82. Gordon was born on September 21, 1943 to Harold and Chloe Miller from Summersville, Missouri. He was raised with strong values of hard work, faith, and devotion to family that remained evident throughout his life. On March 21, 1964, Gordon married the love of his life, Linda Dailey. Together they shared more than 62 wonderful years of marriage. Their relationship was built on love, commitment. sacrifice, and teamwork as they worked side by side to provide for and care for their family.
Gordon was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Family was the most important part of Gordon’s life, and he treasured the time spent with those he loved. Gordon spent the first 23 years of his career working at Dayco. After that chapter of life ended, he began his own dump truck business and contracted his services to Master Jackson’s until his retirement in 1998. In addition to his full-time work, Gordon also raised and managed a herd of beef cattle alongside his wife, Linda and son, Robert. When it was time to relax, Gordon loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and made several elk hunting trips to Colorado over the years. He owned a fishing boat and spent many enjoyable days at local lakes with friends and family.
Gordon and Linda especially enjoyed hosting fish fries and sharing the fruits of his labor with those they loved. One of Gordon’s greatest joys was teaching his grandson, Austin, how to fish and creating treasured memories together. Gordon and Linda shared a passion for the outdoors, whether they were tending to their garden, camping, or traveling. Over the years, they made numerous trips to New Mexico and Colorado. Gordon lived a full and meaningful life centered around faith, family, hard work, and the outdoors.
Most importantly, he surrendered his life to his Savior, Jesus Christ-a faith that deeply changed how he lived his life, loved others, and the values he passed on to his family. Though he will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him, his loved ones find peace and comfort in knowing they will see him again in Heaven.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Chloe Miller; his grandparents, Floyd and Grace Miller; Uncle Roland and Aunt Inez Miller; and Uncle Bill and Aunt Jean Fleming.
