Gordon Ray Triplett, 70, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on May 3, 2026.

He was born on September 5, 1955, in Springfield, Missouri, to Sarah and Marion Triplett. Gordon grew up in the Springfield area and graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1972. Shortly after graduation, at just 17 years old, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served his country with dedication for four years of active duty, followed by two years in the reserves.

After his military service, Gordon built a strong work ethic that carried him through his civilian life. He worked for nearly 20 years at Tyson Foods until its closure, and later spent 13 years working for Walmart before stepping away due to health concerns.

Gordon was known for speaking his mind, he had no filter, could be blunt, and was always direct. But beneath that tough exterior was a deeply generous man. If he knew someone needed help, he wouldn’t hesitate to give whatever he could, even the shirt off his back. Those who truly knew him understood the depth of his kindness and loyalty.

He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Sarah and Bill Brayfield, and his father Marion Triplett.

Gordon is survived by his children, Lacie and Tyler, his grandchildren, Shayla and Breann, and his brother, Ray Triplett. He leaves behind memories of strength, honesty, and quiet acts of generosity that will not be forgotten.
