Rev. Gordon Stanley Bialik, 86, of Iron River, Michigan, died peacefully on January 13, 2024, in Springfield, Missouri.
He was born on July 30, 1937, to Zacharias Bialik and Phyllis Florence Bialik (Cox) in Iron River, Michigan.
Gordon earned a master’s in education at Northern Michigan University and studied theology at North Central Bible College. He also served in the Michigan National Guard.
In 1961, while at North Central, he married Blanche Bryant Bialik. They had four children, Stanley Bialik, Elizabeth Corbin, David Bialik, and Miriam Bialik van Wees. Throughout his life, Gordon delighted in welcoming home his children, sixteen grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and so, so many more.
Gordon’s early career was in elementary education, beginning as an elementary teacher and then principal on Mackinac Island, Michigan; Shelbyville, Indiana; Wilmington, Ohio; and Milan, Italy. He then followed the calling to be a missionary he believed God gave him at a young age. Gordon became an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God. He served as a missionary in Portugal, Cameroon, Angola, and Russia. Gordon retired from the Assemblies of God World Missions, and settled with is wife in Hamilton, Ohio, and later in Springfield, Missouri.
For fun, Gordon loved to play the trombone and go bow hunting. He also took great joy in discovering new places and cultures with family and friends.
Gordon’s memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 19, 2024 at Central Assembly of God, Springfield, Missouri, with Rev. Roland Dudley officiating.
