Gordon Vantine Korell was born Jun 30 1934, on the old Hanks family
homestead in Blackwood Prec., Hayes Co., NE. He was the 6th child of
Roy Clark and Morah Lea (Hanks) Korell. He never lost his love for
Nebraska. Upon graduation he moved to Denver, CO where he met and married the love
of his life, Emma Mae Mullings in 1956. In 1963 Gordon and Emma, along with their children Jordon Womak and Melinda Susanne, moved to Fair Grove, MO, where he was taught the cattle business by his father-in-law, George Mullings. He always gave George the credit for
teaching him how to buy and sell cattle. He was looking forward to celebrating living on the Womack farm for 50 years this Spring. Above all he was devoted to Jesus Christ. He loved God ‘s Word, his church and world missions. Late in his career he developed a love for
antique tractors and was a proud member of the Springfield Tractor
Club. Gordon was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Leroy
(Ella), Dewey (Fay), Cletus, J. Frank and Robert Korell, one sister
Evelyn (Harley) Bodeman. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Emma
Mae, Jordon & Barbara Korell of West Des Moines, Iowa and Melinda & David
Queen of Prairie Village, Kansas. Five precious granddaughters, Brittany &
Erik Heard, Aleena & Janine Korell, Catherine & Rebecca Queen;
Sister-in-laws Faye and Neva Jane Korell both of Nebraska, along with a host of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home East on
Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. followed by a celebration service at
4:30 p.m. A burial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. the next day at
Mount Comfort Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers
