Gregory Keith Summers, age 60, of Springfield, Mo., passed away January 3, 2011 unexpectantly. He was born August 31, 1950.
Greg is survived by his wife, Joyce; daughter, Carey and her husband Tony Stubblefield; son, Matthew and his wife Corie Summers; son, Andrew Summers and Debra Spell; six beautiful grandchildren (his shining stars) Madeline, Camryn, Caitlin, Marvalous, Verity and his boy Rylan; his guardian brother, Steve Maples; guardian sisters, Garland Gray, Karen Kutz, Eda Davis, and Jo Durham (deceased); mother and father-in-law, Oliver and Elvena Sade; brothers and sisters-in-law, Boyd and Connie Sade and Mike and Rita Sade; and an endless number of nieces and nephews that called him Uncle Greg.
His family was the biggest, proudest part of his life. Greg loved the wind in his face on his Harley. He retired from AWG after 30 years.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 10, 2011 at 3 p.m., in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m., prior to the service in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Toys for Tots, 1110 N. Fremont, Springfield, MO 65802. Greg participated and loved to ride his Harley each year in the annual Christmas Motorcycle Run.
