Gregory Paul Marlowe, age 78, passed away on May 23, 2026, leaving behind many memories shared with those who knew and loved him.

Gregory was a proud United States Army Veteran who dedicated many years of service to his country. At just 17 years old, eager to serve, he enlisted in the Army by changing his birth year, later correcting it to reflect his true age. During his military service, Gregory spent six years stationed in Germany, served time in Korea, and courageously fought in the Vietnam War. His bravery and dedication earned him three Bronze Stars, an honor he carried with great pride. He was also a devoted member of the VFW and a proud Shriner.

Following his military career, Gregory worked for several years as a prison guard and later traveled throughout Missouri repairing lottery machines.

Gregory was a man of simple joys and deep loyalties. He dearly loved his mother and treasured time spent with his wife, Susan Marlowe, especially baking banana bread together. He adored his beloved Chihuahua, Cherry, who brought him much companionship and happiness. In quieter moments, Gregory enjoyed keeping up with the news and never missed favorite television shows such as The Price Is Right, Let’s Make a Deal, and Jeopardy.

Family meant a great deal to Gregory. He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Gregg Marlowe Jr., and stepdaughter, Lorenda Williams. He leaves behind his loving wife, Susan Marlowe; his son, Donald Marlowe; stepdaughter, Sarah Johnson; along with extended family and friends who will cherish his memory. Gregory was also known as a caring and beloved brother-in-law who will be deeply missed by those fortunate enough to know him.

Gregory’s life was one of service, resilience, and devotion to family. His proud spirit, stories, humor, and steadfast presence will be greatly missed, but lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
