Greta Darlene Ruble Ross, age 87, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on January 18, 2026, at Mercy Hospital Springfield. Greta was born to Grant Tunnell and Bernice Tunnell on July 4, 1938 in Wright County, Mo. She professed her faith and was saved at an early age and was a member of the United Methodist Church while in Lebanon. Greta was predeceased by her first husband with whom she shared 35 years of marriage and 3 children. Later in life she met and married Ray Ross and was predeceased by Ray in 2022.
Greta worked in banking most of her life and ended her career as vice-president of Boatmen’s Bank now known as Bank of America. Greta lived a life full of love, dedication, and grace. She loved to travel, especially to the beach, art, reading, entertaining friends and family, and gardening. She cherished her time with family above all else.
Greta was preceded in death by her father, Grant Tunnell; mother, Bernice Tunnell; husband, Gene Ruble; sister, Virginia Lowrance; and her late husband, Raymond Ross. She is survived by her daughter, Angela Draheim; son, Jeffrey Ruble; son, Robert Ruble and his wife Pam Ruble; granddaughter, Brittany Letterman; grandson, Coy Draheim and his wife Tessa Draheim; granddaughter, Danielle Ruble; grandson, Isaac Ruble; sister, Carolyn Fontenot; and sister, Sue Engsberg. She was an aunt and great aunt to many wonderful nieces and nephews, and she also cherished her great-grandchildren and grandson-in-law, Julius Lockett, who all brought a sense of pride and joy to her.
A visitation for Greta will be held on Thursday, 22nd of January 2026, at 10:30 AM, at Greenlawn Funeral Home South in Springfield, Missouri. A Graveside Service for Greta will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Mount Rose Memorial Park Cemetery Lebanon. Missouri.
