Guy Wayne Mitchell 71, Springfield, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2013 in his home, after a long illness. He was born March 14, 1941, to Lather and Etta (Pippin) Mitchell Trogdon. Guy was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: C.L. and Leeray Mitchell and his step-father L.V. (Bob) Trogdon.
Guy is survived by his wife of 49 years Jane, of the home, two sons: Ben Mitchell and grand-daughter Kelsie, Randy Mitchell and his wife Lisa, and grandchildren: Hailey and Devin. He is also survived by one sister Nancy and her husband Luther (Bud) Massey, five nieces and three nephews.
Funeral Services will be Friday, Feb. 22, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be an hour prior to services from 2 to 3 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial Donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
