Harold was born April 14, 1918, in Macomb, Illinois to Algot and Bessie (Stoneking) Carlson.
In 1935 he met and married the love of his life, Kathleen Brandon after a lengthy courtship of 6 weeks. He was 17, she 16. They were blessed with 2 children. They were parted only by death 71 years later. He missed her every day thereafter, speaking often of his pretty girl. It was Kathleen who led him to the Lord. Harold became a devote Christian. His quest for knowledge led him to the Biblical truths of the Church of God-7th Day. He was a powerful speaker who touched the hearts of many with humor, truth, leadership and compassion. In time, he took the bold step of faith to quit his secular job. He became an ordained, licensed minister in 1968. He preached from the pulpit, on radio and TV. and produced a free cassette ministry. He often spent time at his desk with his Bible even during his last days. His daily prayers were for the salvation of all his loved ones and thanksgiving.
Harold leaves behind his son Larry and wife Linda, his favorite daughter Christine Clark, 4 grandchildren and 7 great grand children.
Funeral services for Mr. Carlson will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 20, 2011 in Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
