Harold Dean Phillips, 87, Springfield, Missouri, went home to be with the Lord, January 1, 2012, in Springfield. He was born December 6, 1924, in Webster County, Missouri. He served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946, during World War II.
Harold retired from Frisco railroad after 35 years. He was a member of Broadway Baptist Church for 56 years. He was an avid all around sportsman and even made a hole in one playing golf.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years; Lorine, Springfield. Three daughters, Sandra Burch and husband Frank, Carol Hedrick and husband Joe, Barbara Hammock and husband Jim, who has gone to be with the Lord. Six grandchildren and Three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.
Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, January 5, 2011, at Broadway Baptist Church, Springfield, 2537 N. Broadway, Springfield, Mo.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2011, at Greenlawn Funeral Home South, 441 W. Battlefield, Springfield, Mo.
Burial with military honors will be in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield.
