Harold L. Crawford (Leon), Rockaway Beach, MO. passed away on January 22, 2024, at Cox South Medical Center, Springfield, MO. Leon was born on April 11, 1947, in Seneca, MO. to Harold L. and Bonieta Crawford. Leon was a 1965 graduate of Nevada High School and went on to receive multiple degrees from The University of Missouri-Rolla in Electrical Engineering and Business. He was a veteran of The United States Air-Force. Leon held many prestigious positions throughout his career, most recently, Director of Research and Development at Sprint Telecommunications prior to his retirement. Leon loved spending time with his grandkids, fishing and gardening.
Leon was preceded in death by his father, Harold L. Crawford and his mother, Bonieta Crawford, and an infant daughter, Lisa. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Crawford, four daughters and their spouses: Kim (Tim), Laura (Brandon), Susan (Nick), and Ashley (Randy), seven grandchildren: Jordan, Derek, Kelsey, Riley, Madison, MaKenzie, and Ethan, and two great-grandchildren: Theodore and Lincoln, three brothers and their spouses: Mike (Yumi), Roger (Emma), and Ron (Sue), two sisters: Sue (Ed) and Linda.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Missouri Veterans Cemetery. A private service will be held at a later date, with interment in Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO.
