Harold “Bill” Piggott, passed away July 7, 2011. Bill was born on August 10, 1929 in Galva, IL. He was raised in an orphanage in Davenport, Iowa. He retired after 21 years in the United States Navy. Bill loved a good game of pool, his grandkids and fishing.
He is preceded in death by his parents and four brothers. He is survived by his wife Thelma of 50 years, a daughter Kelly and her husband Thomas Coram of Nixa, a son Colin and his wife Shirley Piggott of Highlandville, three grandchildren Brook and Sarah Davis and Kaleb Coram of Nixa, a brother Robert Piggott of Fort Worth, TX., a nephew Bill Tettenhorst of Seattle, WA., his best friend from the Navy and pool playing buddy Walt Baker of Springfield, and good friend Lester Davis of Nixa.
After he retired from the Navy he worked and retired again from Jim Joyce Golf car and equipment company, then he volunteered 5 years and 400,000 miles driving for the DAV, taking veterans to their appointments.
Bill was the best of everything, husband, dad, grandpa, uncle and friend.
A private graveside service will be at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery. The family requests that NO memorial contributions, flowers or condolences be made or sent.
