Hazel Marie Potter, age 91, of Springfield, Mo., was born March 28, 1920 in Doniphan, Mo., and passed away April 24, 2011 in her home after a long illness. She was united in marriage to Raymond Potter on October 16, 1943 in Pocahontas, Ark. They were married for 67 years. She was a member of Charity Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis Raymond and Selma Sanders; brothers, Russell and Duane Sanders, and Roy and Wanda Potter; loving daughter, Janice Peterson; son-in-law, Larry Sikora; and sister-in-law, Imogene Sanders.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond C. Potter; children Judy Sikora and Rita and Jack Hile; five grandchildren, Ronald Chapman, Casey and (Bill) Maupin, Julie (Eric) Rust, Jason and (Christy) Sikora, and Leah and (Tom) Schultz; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brothers and their spouses, Howard and Hester Sanders, Glenn and Pat Sanders, Vernon and Shirley Sanders, and Cecil and Ruth Potter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 29, 2011 at 2 p.m., in Greenlawn Funeral Home East. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday, April 28, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m., in the funeral home. The family suggests memorial donations be made to Charity Baptist Church.
