Helen Emily Haas, age 85, of Fair Play, Missouri, went to be with her Lord, December 15, 2011. Helen was born March 10, 1926 in Dorrance, Kansas to Wenslow and Emily (Kejr) Hendrich.
Helen Hendrich and Alvin J. Haas were married August 9, 1942. He was called into the U.S. Army in November 1942, and served until October 1945. After World War II, they moved to Lebanon, Kansas in 1945, where they operated a gas station until 1991. When they retired in May 1991, they moved to Fair Play, Missouri. They had three sons, John of Laguna Niguel, California; Richard, of the home, who took care of his Mother until her death; and Bill of Paron, Arkansas. Surviving are two daughters-in-law, four grandsons, two granddaughters, six great grandchildren, two brothers: Winslow Hendrich of Vilonia, Arkansas and Jim Hendrich of Fair Play, Missouri; two sisters: Daisy Bane and Esther Carver of Anthony, Kansas, and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, Alvin J. Haas, her parents, and one brother.
Visitation will be December 21, 2011 6:00-8:00 pm at Pitts Chapel.
Funeral Service for Helen Emily Haas, will be December 22, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Pitts Chapel.
Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Bolivar, Missouri.
