Helen Laverne Barthman, age 92, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, family, and simple joys. She was born on September 10, 1933, in Bogota, Tennessee, to Donna and W.H. Keith.
Helen married her beloved husband, Herbert, on November 14, 1982. They shared 19 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2001. Together, they built a life centered on family, care, and devotion.
She found great happiness in tending to her vegetable garden alongside her daughters, spending time in the backyard nurturing both plants and memories. After harvest, she enjoyed canning their produce, preserving not only food but moments shared together. Helen also had a passion for sewing and loved thrift shopping, often spending her free time browsing stores and yard sales in search of hidden treasures.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert; her parents Donna and W.H. Keith; and her siblings, Jeanie Conner, Odie Keith, Junior Keith, and Lauretha Walton.
She is lovingly survived by her daughters, Linda Marshall and her husband Brad, and Robin Durning; her grandchildren, Bradley Allen Marshall and his wife Kaysi, and Brian Carl Marshall; and her great-grandchildren, Sidney Marshall, Luke Marshall, Austin Marshall, and Carter Marshall.
A visitation will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home North on April 21 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with funeral services beginning at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Temple Israel Cemetery.
Helen will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family.
