Helga Burdick was born February 18, 1935 to Henriette Becker and Fritz Stinzing and grew up in Battenberg, Germany. Where she met the love of her life: William E. Burdick and were married March 1, 1955. They have lived in Springfield and Willard ever since. Preceding her in death were: her parents, one brother Ewaldt, Surviving is her husband; three children: daughter Gabriele E. (Steve) Barber, son William A. Burdick both from Springfield and son Michael E. (Tammy) Burdick of Willard; five grandchildren: Chris and Greg (Trisha) Poe; Amanda (Ben) Brown, Micah and Trinity Burdick; great-grandchildren: Sierra and Marissa Poe, three sisters from Germany: Rosemarie Mueller, Renate Klingelhoefer (Gerd) and Irmgard Leng (Gerd). Plus many nieces and nephews. She loved working with her husband as the owners of Bill’s Custom Woodworks. She also loved her children, grand and great-grandchildren. They were the most important things in her life.
Visitation will be Thursday May 21, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Funeral service will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Wesley Cemetery in Willard.
