Herman Eugene Gouty, 85 of Springfield, MO passed away peacefully on Aug. 12, 2026

Herman was born on Dec. 21, 1940 in Bois D’Arc, MO to Otto and Imogene (Gibbons) Gouty. He has 1 sister Ann Gilmore.

Herman has 3 kids plus a step daughter…..John, Cindy, Robert and stepdaughter Sarah. Herman worked for the Frisco/Burlington Railroad for 42 years as a broilermaker.

Herman was a loving, caring, thoughtful, very stubborn, always willing to help you out if you needed it, amazing man that will be missed greatly by all his family and friends. Herman loved red roses, his baby dog Baby, watching his westerns on tv, work on cars, tinkering around doing things outside, spending time with his wife Josefina and sister Ann & her husband Ken. Hanging out with the grandchildren and great grandchildren brought such joy to him. Herman became a devoted Catholic and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Springfield, MO.

Herman is proceeded in death by his parents Otto and Imogene, daughter Cindy, and wife Josefina. He is survived by his sister Ann & husband Ken, son John, son Robert & wife Angie, stepdaughter Sarah & husband Mike. Grandchildren Carly, Hank, Brooke, Calvin, Makayla and Ashley, 7 great grandchildren, 2 nieces, 1 great niece and Baby the dog.

Services will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home North then burial at Resurrection Cemetery in Springfield, MO on Monday Aug. 17, 2026, at 2:30 p.m.
