Hester Lorain Sheridan, age 86, of Springfield, Mo., passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2011 in Ozark Riverview Manor. She was born June 5, 1924, in Springfield, Mo., to George and Blanche (Hall) Tipton.
She was a member of the High Street Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir for over twenty years and taught Sunday School for several years. Hester owned and operated Hester’s Salon for over forty years. She loved to quilt and sew and garden.
She was preceded in death by husband, Harold C. Sheridan; and her parents, George and Blanche Tipton.
She is survived by her son, Terry L. Sheridan of College Park, Maryland; step-son, Randy Sheridan, of Springfield Mo.; one granddaughter, Cindy Baker of Springfield; three sisters, Lou Davis of Republic, Marie Hurley of Florence, Montana, and Kathy Campbell of Knob Noster, Mo.; one brother, Austin Tipton of Bois D’ Arc; and a special niece, Sherry Evans of Branson.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, March 19, 2011 in Greenlawn North Funeral Home. Burial will be held in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Springfield, Mo.
