Miss Hilda Lay was born in Wolverhampton, England, January 25,1917. She departed this life on November 8, 2010, at age 93, from complications of Alzheimers disease. She was the fourthchild born to Thomas and Harriet Lay.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Winnifred, Connie, Bernard and Freda. Hilda was a proud member of the Queens Royal Air Force during World War II. She retired from a long career in the silk industry.
She is survived by her niece, Karen Hayes and family,Willard; and nephews, Michael and Patrick Goodeyon, Yorktown Va. We would like to thank the staff of Mercy Villa, especially the Hope Unit who cared for and loved her for her the past five years.
Visitation will be on Saturday November 13, from 1 to 2 p.m., in Greenlawn North with graveside services immediately following in Brookline Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association . To our dear sweet Auntie Hilda, Ta Ta, Cheerio, till we all meet again
