Howard Bennett Hoyt, age 76, of Springfield, MO, passed away Friday, May 28, 2010 at St. John’s Medical Center. He was born September 11, 1933, in Holtville, CA, to Hiram and Merle (Elliott) Hoyt. He was a member of the Blvd. Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. United States Army during Korea and Vietnam and also during the Cold War . He Attended Baptist Bible College , where he received his Masters of Music Degree. He also attended Viola Bible College in California. Howard enjoyed writing and playing music, and writing poetry was active in the Bus Ministry, was a former song leader and music director, loved electronics and was active with Army M.A.R.S. radio communication, Howard lived his life to the fullest.
He was preceded in death by parents Hiram Geoge and Merle Elizabeth Hoyt, one son Kevin Donald Hoyt,two brothers Merlin Hoyt and Alton Hoyt.. He is survived by his wife Eleanor Hoyt of Springfield, MO,eight children Steven Hoyt, George Hoyt, Kenneth Merlin Hoyt, Johnny Hoyt, Marlene Edith Wright, David Bryan Hoyt, Jimmy Hoyt, and Mark Hoyt all of Springfeld, eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren, three brothers Leon , Lloyd, and Don Hoyt..
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m., Thursday, June 3, 2010, at Greenlawn North Funeral Home with burial in Springfield National Cemetery, Springfield, MO. The family will receive friends from 11-12 Thursday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Life Builders Ministry. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO.
