Howard Ray Shaffer, age 46, of Elyria, Ohio, passed away on December 31, 2025. He was born on October 11, 1979, in Elyria, Ohio, to Howard and Dawn Shaffer.
Howard had a deep love for fast cars and motorcycles and was a lifelong, loyal fan of the Cleveland Browns. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his daughter, Hannah, especially when they would go out to eat together. While he enjoyed many meals, his favorite by far was meatloaf made by her. Above all else, Howard loved his family. He never needed a reason to stop by, often showing up at their homes or workplaces unannounced, simply to spend time together and remind them how much they meant to him.
Howard was preceded in death by his mother, Dawn Shaffer; his nephew, Shine; his brother-in-law, Toby; his aunt Mona and uncle Roy; and his father-in-law Larry sartin
He is survived by Amanda, whom he affectionately referred to as his “favorite baby momma”; his children, Devin Shaffer, Hannah Shaffer (Jeanette Strahle), and Dallas Shaffer; his father, Howard Shaffer (Sherry Henson); his stepfather, Brent Brown; his siblings, Brandon Henson, Chastity White (Brandon), Liz Shaffer (Brandon Hopkins), Shane Henson (Amy), and Brentny Warkins (Jeff); and his mother-in-law Loretta sartin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
Howard will be remembered for his love of family, his passion for cars and motorcycles, and the way he showed up for the people he loved.
