Irene Gier made her Heavenly transition on September 23, 2012, peacefully at home in Springfield, MO, at the age of 91. She was born in Boise, Idaho on January 13, 1921. Irene married Charley, who became her beloved partner sharing their life together for 59 years. They are both loved and missed by their daughters, grandkids and great-grandkids.
Irene was a faithful Christian, displaying unconditional motherly love and being a helpmate to Charley. Together they passionately led people to Christ. Irene believed her life purpose was to bless and encourage others. Many of her family referred to Irene as “Aunt Encourager.”
Preceding Irene on her Heavenly journey was her beloved Charley and many family and friends who are celebrating with her now. Those she left behind who look forward to seeing her again in heaven will dearly miss Irene.
Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 PM, Thursday, September 27, 2012 in Greenlawn Funeral Home South, Springfield, MO. Funeral services are being held in Mtn. View, Arkansas on Monday, October 1, 2012.
The Bible was Irene’s favorite book. As active Gideon members she and Charley helped provide Bibles throughout the world.
