Ivah Jo Glover passed away peacefully on October 11, 2011, in St Johns Hospital, in Springfield MO. surrounded by family.
Jo was born in Mexico City, MO to Orve and Leona Spires. She went to high school in Vandalia, MO and continued at SMS. She retired from Dayco Corporation after working there for many years.
Jo started singing with her sister, Helen, in church at the age of five. She continued singing throughout her life in church and at home with family. She had a passion for golf and was a member of Fremont Hills Country Club for many years. It was not only the game of golf she loved, but the many friends she made along the way. She also loved playing cards and preparing meals for families at the McDonald House with her friends.
Jo married Bob “Popeye” Glover on October 31, 1954, and they raised a son together, Scott Glover of Nixa. Jo became a christian at a very young age, and was an active member of First Baptist Church in Ozark. Her sunday school class meant a lot to her.
Jo was preceded in death by her parents, Orve and Leona Spires, and her husband Bob.
She is survived by her son, Scott Lee Glover and wife, Kathy Thomas Glover; two grandchildren, Josh and Kylie Jo; and one beautiful great grandchild Keegan Jo who was the light of her life; her extended step grandchildren, Kaleb, Krystal, Seth; and step great grandchild Brennen.
Her son and grandchildren will greatly miss her love and support.
Funeral services will be Friday, October 14, at 2 P.M. in Greenlawn Funeral Home East, 3540 E. Seminole. Memorial contributions can be made to the Building Fund of the First Baptist Church of Ozark.
