Jack LeRoy Dick, Sr., was born on June 23, 1942 to John and Marie Dick in Hutchinson, Kansas. He passed away on July 28, 2011 in St. John’s Hospital after a short illness.
Jack was a well-known Mechanic and later became a Farmer. His passions were his family, drag racing, motorcycles and his cows. He knew them all by name. When asked how he was doing his reply would be, “Going 100.”
He married Lucille Smith on March 16, 1963 and to this union two children were born: Brenda and Jack, Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Howard and Larry Dick; stepsister, Verna Mae; stepbrother, Billy. Jack is survived by his wife Lucille; children Brenda Pringle and husband Gary and Jack Dick, Jr., and wife Cheryl; two grandsons, JT and Kyle Dick; brother Roger Dick and wife Dee; stepsister, Jeanie; in-laws, Woneatta Smith, Gary Smith, Julie Dick and Linda Dick; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.
He will be missed by all who knew him.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 1, 2011 at 10:00 am in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Dallas County under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 31, 2011 from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
