It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jack Owen Cole, a beloved husband, father, business owner, and friend, who left us on July 12, 2026, at the age of 97. Born on August 31, 1928, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Jack lived a rich and fulfilling life that left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Jack was a man of many talents and even more stories. A proud business owner of Cole’s Clothing, he poured his energy and creativity into every aspect of his work, shaping not only his own life but also the lives of his employees and customers. His dedication and hard work were evident, and he often shared tales of his adventures in the business world.
Family was everything to Jack, and he cherished his time with his beloved wife, Debi Cole. Together, they created a loving home in Springfield, Missouri, where they filled their lives with joy, laughter, and the warmth of shared memories. Jack had a gift for making everyone feel welcome, and his kindness and compassion touched countless lives in ways that words cannot fully express.
Jack is survived by his devoted wife, Debi Cole, his beloved partner and steadfast confidante; his daughters, Jeanne Cole Ames (husband JR) of Springfield, MO, and Jacqueline Cole Trtan of Springfield, MO; his brother, Willard Dale Cole (wife Judy) of Pryor, OK; and his sister, Nona Elizabeth Uthoff of Parker, CO; and his step-daughters Sarah Winfield and Rebecca Cobb. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Jack was preceded in death by his first wife, Theone Cole; his parents, Owen Willard Cole and Mary Elizabeth Cole; his siblings, Sylvia Ruth Logue, Gene Edward Cole, and Raymond Roylee Burt Cole; his son, Jack Owen Cole Jr.; his daughter, Marianna Jeanette Cole Evans; and his grandsons, Joel Owen Lomax and Jack Christo Evans.
A graveside service to honor Jack’s remarkable life will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens on July 17, 2026, at 1:00 PM. Friends, family, and all whose lives he influenced are invited to join us as we celebrate the legacy of a wonderful man who will be deeply missed.
