Jack R. Hasten 82, Springfield, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013 in Mercy Hospital, after a long illness. He was born Feb.9, 1931 , in Springfield to Robert A. and Nellie (Pierpoint) Hasten. He was a member of Central Christian Church. He was a retired Conductor and Brakeman with Burlington-Northern Railroad. He was also a former Minor League Baseball player for the Philadelphia Phillies organization. He also had been a Greene County Sheriff’s deputy.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Joe Hasten and his baby daughter. Jack is survived by his wife of 40 years Carolyn, 3 sons: Brandon Hasten, Jack W. Hasten and Jeff Wilson, daughter Nadine Dossett, great- grandson Chance Hasten, 3 grandchildren; Dominick Baldwin, Mark Baldwin, Amy Hasten, and 10-great-grandchildren.
