Jackie Everett Thurman, Sr., age 71, of Republic, MO, passed away Friday, January 27, 2012, at The Manor At Elfindale. He was born October 31, 1940, in Springfield, MO, to Royal and Eva (Best) Thurman. He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Before his illness, Jack was actively involved in several church ministries, including foreign missions and jail ministry. He loved traveling with Anne, golfing, and spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five siblings; and his second wife Lynn Thurman.
He is survived by his wife Anne Rader Thurman of the home; a daughter: Janis Brown and her husband Brad of Ozark, MO; a son Jack Thurman, Jr. and his wife Stacey of Springfield, MO; Anne’s children: Rodney Rader and his wife Robin of Republic, MO, Diane Cook and her husband Kevin of Republic, MO; seven grandchilren: Alex Brown, Bayli, Bennett, and Madison Thurman, Cally and Colton Rader, and Kelsey Cook; two brothers: Gilbert and Virgil Thurman; as well as other relatives and friends.
According to Jack’s wishes his body will be cremated. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, February 4, 2012, at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Jeff Sippy officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home East, Springfield, MO.
Jack was blessed to have spent his final days being cared for by the loving staff of The Manor at Elfindale and Kim, his hospice nurse.
