Jacque Duryea Shultz, loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin, friend and coworker, left this life suddenly on March 21, 2022. He leaves behind his wife Jennifer of 24 years and their three children, Tess, Xavier and Gracie. At the age of 47 Jacque lived a full and rich life. He was born on July 3, 1974, in Pittsburg, KS to Dane and Linda Shultz. He attended Pittsburg public schools, during which time he met his future wife, Jennifer. Upon graduating Pittsburg High School, he attended Kansas State University where he graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. After rekindling their friendship at university, Jennifer and Jacque were married on August 29, 1998. Jacque and Jennifer then moved to Pompano Beach, Florida where Jacque took his first job as a Compressor Controls Engineer at Hoerbiger Limited and began his 24-year career. After a few years they returned to Manhattan, Kansas where Jacque completed his Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering at Kansas State University. While attending, Jacque held the position of Manager of Laboratory Operations and Research for KSU’s engineering school and received his Professional Engineering license. He was also a member of ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) and Phi Kappa Theta. The family then moved to Springfield where Jacque worked 17 years with Turblex, Siemens and Howden during which time he held many positions including Turbo Compressor Engineer, Sales Manager and his last held position of Senior Turbomachinery Specialist. While holding these positions, Jacque had the opportunity of working with gas compression, compressor-motor-steam/combustion turbine controls, thermodynamics, structural design and vibration analysis. During Jacque’s lengthy career he held the position of Chair of the ASME PTC-13 and authored several ASME industry standards and publications. Jacque enjoyed spending his summers with his wife and children on Table Rock Lake where he enjoyed teaching them to water ski and snorkel. In the evenings, Jacque enjoyed stargazing with his family, cooking such fair as sushi and grilled cheese sandwiches and tinkering around the house. Jacque and Jennifer loved to travel and took family vacations to the coast of Oregon, Alabama and Florida and New York City. Jacque also leaves behind many family members including his mother and father-in-law Tony and Marilyn Keller, brother-in-law, Tim Keller and wife Lisa, sister-in-law Kimberly Teague and husband Tracy, brother-in-law Jeffrey Keller and wife Becky, Aunt and Uncle, Sue and Ben Magierowski, and Aunt Sindy Lake, many nieces and nephews, parents Dane and Linda Shultz, sister Libby Eddings and husband Justin. He was preceded in death by grandparents Nema and Doyle Shultz and Josephine Barchers. Jacque is deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
A visitation for Jacque will be from 6-8 pm, Thursday, March 31, 2022 with a Rosary at 6pm, at Greenlawn Funeral Home East, 3540 East Seminole, Springfield, MO. A funeral mass for Jacque will be at 2pm, Friday, April 1, 2022, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Memorial donations may be made to the Jacque Shultz Children’s Education Fund, in care of the funeral home.
