James Dean Schriver, age 71, of Springfield, Mo., was born January 25, 1939, in Independence, Kansas, and passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2010 in his home.
He was a Revenue Officer for the Internal Revenue Service for 35 years. After retirement, he worked for Jackson and Jackson CPA’s as a tax consultant.
He was united in marriage to Janie Mishler Schriver on June 8, 1960 in Miami, Oklahoma. He was a member of Second Baptist Church, of Springfield, Mo. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, clay target shooting, golfing, and spending time with his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Henry Schriver, of Baxter Springs, Kansas. He is survived by his wife, Janie; mother, Alberta Clark Schriver; son, Kevin and his wife Denise; son, Mark and his wife Janelle; and daughter, Michelle Chatman and her husband Mike, all of Springfield, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Lauren, Alex, and Mackenzie Schriver, Allison and Mason Schriver, and T.J. and Marisa Chatman; sister, Kathy and her husband, Royce Hanson; and three nephews, Justin, Aaron, and Ryan Decker and their families.
Funeral services will be Monday, January 3, 2011, at 11 a.m., in Macedonia Baptist Church, 3110 W. Sunshine, Springfield, Mo. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery of Columbus, Kansas. Visitation will be Monday, January 3, 2011, one hour prior to service in the church.
