James E. Simpson, 78, of Springfield, Mo., passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2010 in his home.
He was born October 7, 1931 in Springfield, Mo. He moved to California in 1956 and returned to Springfield in 1998. James retired from Milne Truck Lines where he worked for 25 years.
James was a devout Christian and family man, enjoyed horse shoe competitions, four wheeling, and working in the yard growing flowers and tomatoes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Bertha Simpson; one granddaughter, Heather; and two brothers, Roy and Clarence Simpson.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley J. Simpson, of Springfield, Mo.; two daughters Polly Simpson and Karen Shouse of Springfield and Delane Parrott and Charles of Springfield; three grandchildren, Charles, Desmay, and Christian; two great-grandchildren Nicole and Rylan.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, October, 7, 2010, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield Mo. Burial will be held in Bellview Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 in Greenlawn Funeral Home North.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. John’s Hospice. Flowers may be sent to the funeral home. Services have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, Mo.
