James Edward Wood “Branden”, age 54, departed this earth Friday, October 25, 2013 with his friends and mother by his side at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, MO. Branden was born on November 19, 1958 in Belen, New Mexico. He is survived by his beloved mother Shirley and Papa Dave McNeel, Branson, Missouri, seven step-siblings and numerous nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by two brothers, Jerry Wood and Johnny Wood. Also to be mentioned are his furry friends and “loves of his life”, Napoleon, Tootsie, and Gretchen, that he leaves behind. Branden was a beloved son, accomplished hairdresser, and an extraordinary friend to so many. Branden enjoyed life and that was evident in all that he did. His smile would light up a room and his larger than life personality would allow him to make instant and lifelong friends. Branden touched the lives of so many with his caring, kind, and unique heart. Branden will be missed by many although his memory will continue to thrive in all that knew him. For years stories that elicit laughter and joy will always keep Branden’s memory alive as he was the life of the party and a one-of-a-kind friend and son. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Branden’s mother, Shirley Armstrong, at the memorials or mailed to 210 Iron Horse Lane, Branson, Mo 65616.
A memorial service will be Thursday, Oct 31, 2013 at 11:00am, at Greenlawn East and a Celebration of Life will be held at Millie’s Café, downtown Springfield, Saturday 11/2/2013 at 7:00pm. May peace be with all of the hearts that are affected by the loss of such a wonderful man. –
