James
Edward Goodwin, age 84 of Fort Pierce, FL, formerly of Fair Play, MO, and West
Springfield, MA, passed away Friday, April 5, 2013, in his home. He was born July 11, 1928, in Summerville,
MA, to James Edward and Ethel (Dejoy) Goodwin.
He is a US Army Korean War veteran.
He was united in marriage June 19, 1950, in West Springfield, MA, to
Shirley Yelinek. He was a member of the
First Congregational and First Methodist Churches of West Springfield, MA,
where he served as a Deacon, and on multiple committees.
His parents precede him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years
Shirley Goodwin of the home; two sons: Glenn Goodwin (Tiffany) of Port St.
Lucie, FL, and Leonard Palmer of Jenson, FL; two daughters: Jody
Goodwin-Granger (Charles) of West Springfield, MA, and Debra Young of Ft.
Pierce, FL; one brother William Goodwin of Springfield, MA; five sisters: Edna
Duca of Agawam, MA, Gracie Adams (Bruce) of Merritt Island, FL, Ruth Massie
(Samuel) of NJ, Gretta Murphy of TX, and Wendy Cavallon (Mark) of Westville,
MA; four grandchildren: Garrett Young, Gregg Young, Ashley Hawkins, and Greyson
Goodwin; two great grandchildren; as well as foster parents for 24 years to
more than 250 children and 19 great grandchildren; as well as numerous other
relatives and friends.
According to James wishes his body
will be cremated. There will be a
