James Edward Stokes age 78, of Rogersville, Mo. passed away Monday, May 7, 2012 at his son’s residence. He was born March 4, 1934, in Pleasant Hope, Mo. to Claude and Rachel (Witt) Stokes. He attended Harmony Baptist Church. He was a wood-worker, an avid fisherman and Nascar Fan. James was preceded in death by his wife Lois Jacquline Stokes, and by his brother Paul Stokes. He is survived by his five children; Bob, Bill, Jon, Cindi Hodson,and Lynda Burdette. he is also survived by his brothers and sisters; Tommy Stokes; Joplin, Mo., Bill Stokes; Brighton, Mo., John Stokes; Pleasant Hope, Mo., Jerry Stokes; Pleasant Hope, Mo., Barbara Jean Jean Hildreth, Springfield, Mo. and Claranda Hudson, Springfield, Mo. 15-grandchildren and 23-great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2012 in Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, near Willard. Visitation will be Thursday evening, May 10, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
