James Lee Morris

January 25, 1947 - March 24, 2015

James Lee Morris, 68, Springfield was born January 25, 1947. He passed away March 24, 2015 at his home. James was married on Sept. 4, 1976 to Pam Morris. James and Pam lived and loved each other for 38 years. James lived each day by faith and trusting in God.
James is survived by daughters, Kelsea, Laci and Natalie; his mother, Clara Morris; his brother, Gary and family as well as many lifelong friends. James served in the United States Marine Corps, serving from 1966 to 1968 as an infantry leader during the Vietnam War. After serving in the Marines, James retired after 45 years from Sweetheart Cup Company.
James had a true passion for horsemanship. He was an American Quarter horse Association world champion, as well as winning many other horsemanship awards.
A memorial service will take place on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Greenlawn North Funeral Home.

Jimmy was my direct supervisor for a time at Solo. It deflates me to have just recently found out he has died. In the capacity I knew him Jimmy was a fair handed and discerning man who balanced compassion and responsibility well. I pray the memories he left for those who knew him are cherished and oft repeated until we stand before the throne together. I am thankful that people of faith mourn in hope and will pray for his family as often as my memory returns to him.
