James Ray (J.R.) Wallace, age 71, of Springfield, MO, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Mercy Hospital. He was born July 17, 1940, in Mountain View , MO, to Ray and Iva (Hassket) Wallace. He was a member of the local Teamster Union, Abou Ben Aduem Shrine Temple, and Gate of the Temple Masonic Lodge. .J.R. worked for Roadway Express for over 35 years.J.R. was united in marriage to Anna Lou Jones on December 4, 1993 in Las Vegas, NV.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray Wallace and Iva Marie Butts; two brothers, Richard Wallace and Michael Wallace: and one sister, Demitra Storz.
He is survived by his wife Anna Lou Wallace of Springfield, MO; one brother Raymond Wallace of Sidney Iowa; one sister, Ruth Ann Butts of Springfield; and a host of friends and family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 15, 2012, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, Springfield, MO. Burial will be held in Mennonite Cemetery, Birch Tree, MO. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shrine Hospital.
