James (Sonny) Paul Scott, age 91, of Battlefield passed away Sunday, February 3rd, 2019 at Springfield Rehabilitation & Heath Care Center .

Sonny was born January 4, 1928 in Clever, MO to Stephen Scott and Dolly Scott. Sonny was a graduate of Clever High School. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Rubilee Russell on January 25, 1948, in Ozark, MO. Sonny worked for M.F.A. Company for forty-eight years, working in all divisions , Plant Foods, Farm Chemicals, Tires, and Oil. He was a long time member of the Church of Christ, attending West and Lincoln Church of Christ, North National Church of Christ, and finally Sunset Church of Christ, where he served as a deacon. Sonny was a very talented musician, he could play any string instrument.

Survivors include one son, Stephen Scott, and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Rubilee Scott, his parents, Stephen and Doll Scott; ; three brothers, Thomas Eugene Scott, Jonathan Michael Scottt, and Harold Scott; and three sisters, Mary Ghan, Oleta Belle Aven, and Laurel Redfern

The family will receive friends from 10-11 am, Friday at Greenlawn Funeral Home South. A celebration of Sonny's life will be held Friday, February 8th, 2019 at 11:00 am in Greenlawn Funeral Home South, with burial to follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Clever, MO . Memorial donations may be made in Sonny's name to the Sunset Church of Christ Pantry Fund.
