James Steven (Steve) Pulliam was born on July 1, 1957, in Springfield, Mo. and was called home to be with the Lord on January 4, 2022. He was a graduate of Nixa High School (class of ‘75) and a former student of Drury College. Steve served over 30 years in Government Servitude to this great country, first, with the United States Army, serving two tours in Germany, then, with the Federal Bureau of Prisons at the Federal Medical Center in Springfield, Mo. and finally, with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. He had many friends and colleagues both in Missouri and California, moving back to the area after his retirement.
Steve had many interests but loved fishing and sports. He officiated both high school and college level baseball and basketball games. He was active in many civic and church activities and was a member of American Legion Post 220 Branson/Hollister Mo. Steve accepted Christ as his Savior when he was 7 years old, and walked in his light throughout his life. At the time of his death, he was a member of Riverdale Baptist Church. Steve was preceded in death by his father, James Pulliam, and both maternal and paternal grandparents, he is survived by his mother, Betty Horton (Peer), brother, Rick, daughter, Danielle, and granddaughter, Kyrie. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Wounded Warrior Project, or a supporting organization of your choice.
