James “Jack” William Brown, 88, Springfield, MO., passed away on December 29, 2011 at The Manor at Elfindale. He was born on April 30, 1923, in Springfield, MO., and graduated from Senior High School in Springfield, MO. Jack Worked for 40 years at City Utilities as a Lineman and retired in 1988. He married Mary Etta Arnold on June 17, 1948, in Springfield, MO., and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Jack’s parents, wife Mary, two brothers, and a sister preceded him in death.
Jack is survived by his five sons and their families. Richard and Lisa Brown, John and Bev Brown, James and Becky Brown, Russell and Janna Brown all of Springfield, and Paul and Debra Brown of Aurora, MO., eight grandchildren, Chris, Kyle, Renee, Eric, Josh, Carly, Ian, and Nikki.
Visitation will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home South on Monday, January 2, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Greenlawn Funeral Home South, on Tuesday, January 3, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. burial to follow in Highlandville, MO.
