Janice Elaine Cler

Elaine Cler, age 73, of Bolivar, Missouri, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family.

     Born July 23, 1953, Elaine was a woman of strong faith who treasured her family and the simple joys of life. She especially enjoyed spending time on her screened-in patio, watching the hummingbirds visit. This peaceful pastime brought her great joy.

     In her younger years, Elaine was affectionately known as “Speedy,” a nickname she earned while working as a waitress. Those who knew her will remember her personality, strength, and the special way she touched the lives of everyone around her.

     Elaine is survived by her loving husband, Ed Cler; her sisters, Beverly Sellers of Bolivar and Jeanie Lovewell of Ozark; her grandchildren, Ty Garretson of Kansas City, Cole Garretson of Joplin, and Kaitlyn Collins (Tanner) of Stockton; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will cherish her memory.

     She was preceded in death by her children, Jodi Garretson and Jeff Graves; her mother and stepfather, Marie and John Mead; her father, Jack Sayre; and her sister, Linda Sayre.

     Elaine’s strong faith was an important part of her life, and her family finds comfort in knowing that she is now at peace and reunited with those she loved who went before her.

     A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on September 21, 2026, at Humansville Cemetery in Humansville, Missouri.

     Elaine will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
