In Loving Memory of Janice Gwen Dickey, December 25, 1938 – May 29, 2025

Braselton, Georgia – We sadly announce the passing of Janice Gwen (Decker) Dickey, 86, beloved wife of the late Ronald Alvin Dickey, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully om Thursday, May 29, 2025.

Janice was born on Christmas Day December 25, 1938, in St. Louis, Missouri, daughter of the late Melvin Schaeffer Decker and Edna Mae (Renick) Decker Will.  Janice married her soulmate, Ronald Alvin Dickey, in 1958.  They resided in St. Louis and Springfield, Missouri during their married life raising a loving family.  In 2022, she and her husband relocated to Georgia, for continued care with family.

Janice cherished every moment spent with loved ones and took immense pride in her children’s and grand-children’s accomplishments.  She also enjoyed golfing and traveling in their younger days with friends and created many wonderful memories.

Janice was a devoted and loving wife of Ronald Alvin Dickey, with whom she shared a life filled with love and treasured memories.  Janice is survived by children Daniel C. Dickey and his wife Susan, and Jeffrey G. Dickey, her adored grandchildren: Ryan Dickey, Daniel Dickey, Megan Dickey, Beth (Dickey) McCart  and her husband Drew, Lauren (Dickey) Jeffords and her husband Andrew, Alexia (Dickey) Montgomery and her husband Alec, and Landon Dickey; her daughter-in-law Mary Kathleen Dickey Cantrell.  Janice was predeceased by her husband Ronald Alvin Dickey, her son Ronald Melvin Dickey and sister Vonona Kirby.  She is survived by precious great-grandchildren: Abigail McCart, James Daniel “JD” Jeffords, Reid Jeffords.  She is also survived by nieces Kimberly O’Brian, Jan Trevino, Lora Miller, and Kristina Holcomb.

Janice Gwen Dickey leaves a legacy of love, resilience and strong family values that will live on for generations.  Janice’s kindness, humor, and unwavering devotion to family and friends will be deeply missed by all that knew her.  She will be remembered as a kind and compassionate woman with boundless strength and love.

Funeral Service will be at Greenlawn Funeral Homes, 3540 East Seminole St., Springfield, Missouri on Monday, June 16, 2025, at 11:30 AM. A visitation will be prior to the service starting at 10:30 AM. She will be laid to rest at the State of Missouri Veterans Cemetery immediately following the service, at 1 PM.  In lieu of flowers the family is asking for a donation to be made to the American Diabetes Association – https://wwwldiabetes.org
