Janna Sue Smallwood, age 73, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on August 16, 2025, at Cox Medical Center South. Janna Sue Smallwood, age 73, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on August 16, 2025, at Cox Medical Center South. Janna was born to Wayne Manis and Mary Manis on December 31, 1951 in Miami, Oklahoma. Soon after the Manis family moved to Springfield, Missouri where Janna lived most of her life graduating from Glendale High School in 1970. Later in life to be blessed two wonderful children Jason and Jessica who loved and adored her, and were by her side every step of the way.
Janna belonged to South Haven Baptist church for a number of years where she full heartedly and faithfully served our Heavenly Father. She was so loved and well known for her kindness and her beautiful Sunday outfits. Everyone will miss her reading the long scriptures as well as seeing her grandson Elijah escort her to her Sunday school class every Sunday!
Janna was a bookkeeper at Netwatch for several years before retiring, she always spoke so highly of the staff she worked with especially her good friend and boss Matt Lackrone.
When not working Janna loved gardening and most of all spending time with family. She will be remembered for always being so loving and caring. Such a sweet lady with a sweet soul. She will be missed dearly.
Janna was preceded in death by her Father and Mother Wayne and Mary Manis. She is survived by her son Jason McIntosh, daughter Jessica Smallwood as well as her three grandchildren Katelyn, Elijah and Reid.
Visitation will be held for Janna from 1:00 pm-3:00 pm on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Greenlawn Funeral Home South in Springfield, Missouri. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025 at 10:30am at Greenlawn Funeral Home South in Springfield, Missouri with burial to follow at Maple Park Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
