Jeffery Scott Berry, husband, father, and Poppy, was welcomed into his heavenly home on February 29, 2024. He was 54 years young. He was born to Brady and Helen (Louise) Berry on November 24, 1969. He was a graduate of Hillcrest High School class of 1988. Soon after graduating, he met and married the love of his life, Carmela (Swearingin) Berry on July 21, 1990. Together, they had three beautiful children, Brandon, Tyler, and Emily.
Jeff was devoted to Carmela and their children in every way possible. He worked for nineteen years at Willowbrook Foods before moving on to the Willard School District to become a custodial engineer for the remaining fourteen years of his life. He loved spending time with his family, whether it be going to the races, having a cookout in the backyard, or just sitting in his recliner in the living room covered by his grandbabies. Jeff loved to hunt and fish, as well as spending time outdoors. During his downtime, he enjoyed watching his favorite movies, or listening to his favorite gospel hymns. He had a sense of humor that could make anyone laugh, and a smile that could light up any room.
Jeff is preceded in death by his parents, Brady and Helen Louise Berry, and a brother, Ronald Dean Berry. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Carmela Berry; his sons, Brandon Berry and longtime girlfriend, Britany Froseth; Tyler Berry and wife, Jami; a daughter, Emily (Berry) Hines and husband, Kyle; a brother, Michael Berry, and a sister Tami (Berry) Hartsell. Grandchildren: Emma, Elena, Priscilla, and 2 bonus grandchildren, Levi and Alyssa.
A visitation is planned for Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 6:00-8:00 at Greenlawn Funeral Home North, with a service following on Friday, March 8, 2024, at 1:00. Burial services will take place at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in Jeff’s memory to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, or to the Kidney Foundation.
