Jennifer “Jen” Allison Michaels, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away December 13, 2023. She was born on December 6, 1982, in Anniston, Alabama, to Thomas and Judy Michaels. Jennifer attended Central High School and then Bailey Alternative School, where she was involved in the WINGS program for gifted students.
Jennifer was a gifted artist and was always a very creative person. She played violin in high school and later picked up the guitar, keyboard and piano. She even formed a band with her friends when she was a teenager, she had a wonderful voice. Jennifer also won coloring and painting contests all throughout her school years. She loved swimming, camping, hiking, nature, gardening, and her two children that she loved more than anything. Jennifer also became very active in church, where she developed strong relationships with those in need. She was passionate about those who were homeless and would pray with and donate to organizations to help as many people as possible. Even in her death she was still giving. As an organ donor, she has already impacted the lives of three individuals.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Michaels; uncles, Jackie Chaffin and Bob Chaffin; grandmother, Mary Michaels; grandfather, Walter Michaels; grandmother, Charline Chaffin; and aunt, Sandy Weimann.
She is survived by her mother, Judy Michaels; children, Hya Michaels and Vix Michaels; brother, Tom Michaels; and many aunts and uncles.
There will be a funeral service held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home East.
