Jerald Eugene Dixon, 86, Springfield, died peacefully in his sleep, Friday, March 17, 2017. He was born January 7, 1931 to Calvin and Opal Dixon in Dunnegan, Missouri. He married Margaret (Margy) (Lucy) Ray in October 1954. He graduated from Stockton High School. Jerald was in the United States Marine Corps, where he served in Japan during the Korean Conflict from 1952-1954. Jerald worked for Tastee Bread and Colonial Bread Companies, retiring in 1988. Jerald and Margy lived many years in Springfield before retiring to Pleasant Hope. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Margy (Lucy), two children; Alan Dixon and wife Yvette, and Teresa, 4 grandchildren; Courtney and wife Christi, Hamilton, Jorden and wife Bethany, and Harrison, four great-grandchildren and one on the way. There will be a Memorial Visitation Sunday, March 19, 2017, 2:00-4:00pm, at Greenlawn Funeral Home North. He will be laid to rest on Wednesday, March 22, 1:00pm, will full military honors at Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
