Jerry John Ingram, 73, passed away Monday, October 12, 2015. Jerry was born February 15, 1942 in Cedar County, Missouri to parents Russell and Reba Ingram. He is survived by his wife of the home, Gaila; his son Jeff Ingram with grandson Clayton and his mother Cindy of Raymore, Missouri; his son Matt Ingram with wife Lori and granddaughter Chloe of Leesburg, Virginia; his sister Murnie and husband Pete Fast from El Dorado Springs, Miss ouri; brother Bill Ingram and his wife Joyce from Goodson, Missouri; brother-in-law Jerry Willis and his wife Rochelle of Independence, Missouri; sister-in-law Sue Willis of Springfield, Missouri; brother-in-law Dan Willis; the Clyde Black family; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. Jerry is preceded in death by his wife, Carol; son Jim Ingram and granddaughter Jennifer Ingram; his sister Bonnie Noblitt of Bolivar, Missouri; his brother Stan Ingram; and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Willis. As a young man he enjoyed fishing, hunting, being outdoors, playing and watching football, and working on cars. Jerry loved the land and so farming was one of his favorite activities throughout his life. In his professional life, he worked in various positions including management for AT&T. Jerry loved his family and neighbors; he was so proud of his sons and their accomplishments. Jerry’s strongest passion was his faith and love for Jesus Christ which manifested through his service to others. Jerry took to heart Matthew 25:40—“Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” He demonstrated that love by learning Greek and Hebrew so that he could teach his Sunday school lesson better, providing home repair for neighbors and friends, even polishing the lens of a family member’s car headlights for safer night driving. Jerry contributed his time to the Ronald McDonald’s home, Community Love for Kids; he visited the sick, assisted with the prison ministry and contributed food in for families in need. His life was a living example of his faith and love for others; Jerry was a Christian. Visitation will take place at Greenlawn Funeral Home North on Wednesday October 14, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be 10:00 am Thursday at Second Baptist Church, 3111 E Battlefield Road, Springfield, Missouri. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
