Jerry Wayne Girth, born in Springfield, MO on February 4, 1947, will be forever remembered for his love of fishing, nature, and family. Jerry passed away on September 18, 2024, in Billings, MO, surrounded by his loved ones.
After serving his country as a medic in the Army from January 5, 1967, to December 5, 1968, reaching the rank of SP4, Jerry built a successful career as a Sanitation superintendent for Hudson Foods Company.
In his free time, Jerry found solace and joy in annual fishing trips to the Great Lakes in Canada, where the thrill of reeling in a catch brought him immense happiness. He also treasured moments spent camping, hiking, and enjoying the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents Virgil and Myrtle (Hacker) Girth, and his siblings Larry, Betty, Barbara and Bob.
Jerry leaves behind his loving spouse Linda Girth of 57 years.
Daughter Tamara McCarthy in Springfield MO. Three grandchildren. Christapher, Chalyne and Dustin
Son Todd and his wife Amy Girth residing in North Carolina. Three grandchildren
Madisyn, Hunter and Bentley.
Also eight great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews other family members and friends.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at the Visitation at Greenlawn Funeral Home North on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at 5:00-7:00 pm. A service will be conducted on Monday, September 23, 2024, also at Greenlawn North beginning at 10:00 am. He will be laid to rest following the service at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield, MO with full military honors.
