Jewel was a treasured friend. I was a client, really, but she treated me—treated all of us, from what I could tell—more like a friend than a customer. She was one of the most energetic, generous, warm-hearted people I have known, and I always looked forward to our visits/appointments. I will miss her stories and her laughter. Jewel’s favorite topic was her family—she loved you all so much. Praying that God will bring peace and comfort to your hearts.
RJ Gillespie left a message on September 7, 2023:
Jewel was my junior high and high school friend. She was a strong believer and her relationship with the Lord was shining through in her life. She will be missed. She absolutely loved her family and adored her Grandchildren. Enjoy Heaven my friend. I’m looking forward to seeing you again one day.

Patricia Higgins left a message on September 7, 2023:
We met Jewel and Steve in 1978 at Bible College. It was my first time being away from home and I was slightly homesick. Jewel and Steve moved in the apartment next to Bill and I. She became my dearest friend and helped me through some tough times. I’m sure I was a pest at times but she was always gracious and helpful. She loved the Lord and it showed in everything she did. I am so grateful that God sent them to live by our sides and to be my “big sister” during our transition to adulthood. We have kept in contact through the years, mainly through cards and Facebook. I will miss my friend. Bill and I will be praying for the family and the peace that only God can give.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Jewel was always a breath of sunshine. Her smile would stay with me until the next time I’d see her at the All School Reunions. Her bond with me over Southern Gospel Music or praying for her granddaughter kept us close. I will miss her forever.

Darrell Boswell left a message on August 29, 2023:
It is with great sadness that I send these condolences. My heart goes out to Steve, the boys and their family. I also know how tough this has been on Alice and her brothers. Jewel was truly one of a kind. Her compassion, positivity, determination, sense of humor and joy in life, coupled with her magnetic personality, made her a friend to all. She was a beautiful soul. This world is better because of her impact. My prayers are with the family during this time of bereavement. Darrell Boswell, San Antonio, TX
