Joe Max Newman was born October 6, 1931 to Max and Lena Newman at Nixa Missouri. He passed away to a better home at the age of 79 and 9 months in his home in Nixa with his family by his side. He was saved at the age of 11 at the Christian Church in Nixa on May 12 1951. He was united in marriage to Betty Cook in her parents home of Nixa.To this union of 60 years they have 8 children Jamie Sr.of Fair Grove Jackie and his wife Robbie, Jeff and wife Myrna of Nixa. 5 daughters Janie and (Butch) Bartlett of Lawson, MO. Janice Boyd of Nixa, Julie Smith of Springfield, Joetta(Mike)Kutchko of Ozark, Jennifer (Butch)Alsup of Cuba MO. 19 Grandchildren, 6 Step Grand children, 24 great grandchildren and 1 on the way. 3 great great grandchildren. 1 sister Marilou (Gerald) Daum. Special friends Charlie and Betty Steinert of Springfield, brother in laws Junior Cook of Nixa, Darrell and Donna Cook of Highlandville, Larry Eva Cook of Ozark. Several neices nephews and friends who will greatly miss him. Joe worked for Clarence Steinert as a gardner for 31 years, then Roadway for 20 years. When he retired he had own garden until he was unable to garden. He loved to fish, work his garden and was dearly loved by his family. The whole family wishes to thank Hospice Compassus for the great care and love they gave Joe.
Funeral services will be Saturday July 30th 11:00 A:M at Greenlawn East Funeral Home. Visitation 6-8 Friday Evening. Burial at Payne Cemetery.
