Joetta (Akins) Fleeman, age 91 of Fair Play, Mo, arrived at her eternal home, Saturday, June 11th, 2022 at Citizens Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Joetta was born August 15th, 1930 to Travis and Ruth (Rickman) Akins. She attended Fair Play School graduating in 1948. On May 8th, 1948, she was united in marriage to Kyle Fleeman by the late Rev. Lewis Mead at his home in Fair Play. They were married 68 years until his death. To this union, three children were born: Rodney Keith, James Robert, and Patricia Ann.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great, great grandmother. As a homemaker, she worked diligently gardening, canning, freezing, and sewing to provide for her family. An excellent cook, one never went away from her table hungry.
Joetta received salvation as a young girl and was faithful to her Lord as she made her journey through life. She instilled Christian values in her children, taking them to church every Sunday and raising them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. She had been a longtime member of the Fair Play Methodist Church.
Joetta was preceded in death by her husband Kyle, son Rodney, her parents, her daughter in law Carol Fleeman, two sisters, Daisy Griffen and Margie Dorth, her brother Wilbert Akins, two nieces, Brenda Powers and Denise Burkhart; two nephews, Ronald Griffen and Terry Griffen, and a granddaughter in law Anna Fleeman.
She is survived by her son James Robert, her daughter Patricia (Johnny) Roark, daughter in law Josephine Fleeman, all of Bolivar; six grandchildren: Ronda (Randy) Hall, Aldrich, Roger (Wendy) Fleeman, Marshfield, Jason (Rachel) Roark, Bolivar, Brandon (Abigail) Roark, Perth, Australia, Valerie (Doug) Hooten and Jon Fleeman all of Springfield. Thirteen great grandchildren: Jaden (Shane) Sawyer, Abigayle (Casey) Hall, Allyson Davis, Mykaela Davis, Logan, Beckham, and Elizabeth Roark, Bailey (Jared) Frieze, Weston Hall, Logan and Landon Fleeman, and Ashley Fleeman. Five great, great grandchildren: Len Hill, Grace and Faith Hall, Liam Sawyer, and Baby girl Frieze arriving soon. One sister – law- Velma Vance and many other close relatives and friends.
Graveside service will be at Lindley Prairie Cemetery, Bear Creek, Mo Wednesday, June 15th, 2022, 10:00 am.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday, June 14th, 2022, 2:00-5:00 pm.
