John Arthur Carter 77, Springfield, MO. passed away December 20, 2020, after a long illness. He was born November 17, 1943, in Greene County, MO. to William and Ramona (Fahrney) Carter. He was a United states Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a retired truck driver with the Southern Supply Company. He was a member of the N.R.A. and he loved and supported the Alcoholics Anonymous Association which he always said helped him back to his sobriety and carry on with his life.
John was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Bill Carter and his nephew: Darren Carter. He is survived by his daughter, Johnetta Carter, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and step children. as well as one niece: Amber Carter and one nephew: Michael Carter.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday evening, December 28, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Greenlawn Funeral Home North
